Evaluation;
For this technique, I took the photographs in the studio as to achieve the best effect you need a plain background. I tried this with both black and white backgrounds and both gave different effects. The black background gave a stronger effect, whilst the white background gave a more faded and ghostly effect. I liked both outcomes as they gave different effects to suit different ideas. It was quite easy to relate this shoot and technique to my personal project theme as it revolves around the use of models, which is what I took photographs of for this. There were some photographs that did not come out as well due to composition and the ideas for it, this is because multiple flash relies on complete darkness so you can't see the the models positioning very clearly to make sure it is exact before setting off the flash.
This is one of my favourite images from this shoot as it worked out really well, so that it only looks like her head is moving. What made this work out well was the black background as it meant the image came out brighter and more solid. The pose also works well in creating a good effect as it was quite a close up image, focusing on Katie's head which is the only part of the image showing movement.
This is my favourite photograph from using the white background. This is because it creates a ghostly effect due to the light exposure on the white background making the various images of Katie seem more transparent. I think the idea works well with the white background as it appears she is coming close to the camera. With this, the models position only had to come closer to the camera and change position so it was easy to shoot. I decided to make this black and white as I wanted to enhance the ghostly effect.
How I could use this technique in my project;
There is quite a few ways in which this could relate to my project. Firstly, I can shoot movement, such as someone dancing which would show up well on a black background. I can also shoot movement just showing fashion, for instance, someone just moving around i.e. spinning. This technique can also be used with a white background to enhance a horror idea.
